The Land Rover and Range Rover Weekly 11
Each week we take a look at some of the best Land Rover and Range Rover stories online. In this week’s edition, we turn to the onset of winter Land Rover fun, some of the best Land Rover print advertisements and the blog of a long-time enthusiast.
It’s been a thoroughly exciting and action-filled summer for Land Rover, with the release of the Range Rover Evoque being a big highlight for us. However, summer is once again coming to an end this Sunday and the wintry British weather will soon be upon us. Luckily, Land Rover vehicles are practically made for winter! Join us on our Facebook page where we help you prepare for the winter months and check out our ‘Winter Wonderland’ album for some snowy Land Rover action. If you’d like your photos to feature in the album, send them to uk.landrover (at) gmail.com or post them to our wall. Don’t forget to put your clocks back!
Land Rover vehicles are all about capability, adventure and exploration and we like to think that our print advertisements reflect this. Have a look at FunRover’s blog to see a list of their favourite 11 print ads, several of which we’ve included in our weekly desktop wallpapers. Which one is your favourite? Don’t forget to keep an eye out for our weekly desktop wallpapers so that you can keep your computer looking as sharp as your Land Rover! Last week’s wallpaper featured the Range Rover Evoque Coupe and this week’s showcases the adventurous Discovery Series II.
Once again this week, we have cause for celebration. Not long after the Range Rover Evoque was awarded Scottish Car of the Year, Motor Trend named it their 2012 SUV of the Year! The latest member of the Range Rover family was commended for its engineering excellence, advancement in design and efficiency amongst other things. Needless to say, we’re very proud of the Range Rover Evoque’s accumulating list of achievements.
Now we turn our attention to an enthusiast blog which we have discovered this week, entitled Charley Land Rover Gets A New Engine! The blog is written by Lorraine and is all about her family of Defenders – Charley (a 1986 Defender 110), Justin (a 1985 Defender 90) and Philip (a 1992 Defender 110). Lorraine is now on the look-out for a Series II and is actively involved in the Shropshire Land Rover club’s greelaning outings.
Finally, we’d like to end with this great photo taken by James Keeler and shared on our Facebook wall. It’s a beautiful shot of his Discovery 4 making its way across a 2 mile tidal sound to get to the deserted island of Vallay in the Outer Hebrides.
