David duChemin and Jessie the Defender
We love hearing stories about people’s adventures in their Land Rovers, especially when the journeys embarked on are full of eye-opening moments and packed with self-discovery.
In January 2010, David duChemin decided that he needed just that. Tired of feeling stagnated after a long year of stress and transition, he began to plan his escape. As a world and humanitarian photographer and best-selling author, he knew he wanted to be able to experience and record the world as best he could, without the draining ties of work and the disillusionment it sometimes brought.
Teamed with his 1993 Land Rover Defender Jessie, David set off in February 2011 on a journey across Canada and the United States, promising his blog readers that he would update them as he drove. His on-going posts contain a mixture of incredible photography and brilliant writing, all brought together by his down-to-earth attitude and constant soul-searching that gleam through his adventure tales.
